ORIFICE PLATE
An orifice plate is used to measure fluid flow rates, reduce pressure, or restrict flow within a pipeline by creating a pressure drop across a precisely sized hole in a thin plate. This principle, based on Bernoulli’s equation, allows for the calculation of flow velocity by measuring the differential pressure before and after the plate. Orifice plates are employed in various industrial applications, including fire safety systems and chemical processing, for both liquids and gases.
